  • Inalfa Roof Systems chooses Intertek accelerated tester

By Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2006 2:00:00 AM

Inalfa Roof Systems, a supplier of OEM sunroof systems to car manufacturers, has implemented a multi-axis, random vibration, accelerated testing system that was designed and built by Intertek ETL SEMKO. The system employs Intertek's Failure Mode Verification Testing (FMVT) process to identify quality problems during the design phase. Intertek says traditional stress-test methods, such as long-term sunroof life-cycle testing, require as many as 30 or 40 days to complete, whereas its FMVT highly accelerated test method can uncover issues in as few as 5 days.

Using the Intertek system, Inalfa is able to combine specifications from its customers with tests that it developed internally to employ a consistent test method for uncovering design issues. The engineering group can then correct defects in a sunroof system before it goes to production, where any problems would require costly fixes. www.intertek-etlsemko.com.
