Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometer
Conforming to all ITS-90 ratio requirements for standard platinum resistance thermometers (SPRTs), the Model 5698 working standard SPRT covers temperatures from +200°C to -661°C. Long-term drift is specified at ±0.006°C after 100 hours at maximum temperature. Typical drift at maximum temperature is just ±0.003°C. The strain-free, 25- pure-platinum sensor is enclosed in a 19-in. quartz glass sheath. Calibration options include both fixed-point and comparison calibrations. Price: $2200. Data Loggers
The Pro series of NIST-traceable data loggers comprises two models: the TR220 for recording temperature and humidity and the SR200 for temperature alone. Each logger is equipped with a push-to-start button, which eliminates unusable pre-data during testing, shipping, and other monitoring conditions. The units store up to 32,512 sample points and are accurate to within ±1.8-F for temperature and ±2% for relative humidity. Dickson, Addison, IL. 800-323-2448. www.dicksonweb.com.
Acoustic Analyzer
The CESVA SC-30 is a Type 1 real-time octave-band analyzer with a frequency range of 31.5 Hz to 16 kHz. You can use the SC-30 as either a sound level meter or a spectrum analyzer, simultaneously measuring all parameters in either mode. It has a single dynamic range of 23 dB to 140 dB, so there is no need for range switching. The handheld meter comes with software that allows real-time retrieval of measured and recorded data, as well as transmission to a PC. Scantek, Columbia, MD. 410-290-7726; www.scantekinc.com.
Temperature-Measurement Module

Joining the DI-1000 family of PC-based instrumentation is the DI-1000TC, a module that performs temperature measurements using J, K, T, E, S, B, N, and R type thermocouples. The unit comes in four-channel and eight-channel versions with input-to-output, channel-to-channel, and channel-to-ground isolation.Temperature measurements range from -200-C to +1820-C, depending on thermocouple type. The DI-1000TC supports both RS-422 and Modbus communications. Base price: $495. Dataq Instruments, Akron, OH. 330-668-1444; www.dataq.com.
Rack-Mount Workstation
Custom-configured to meet your application requirements, the N1C 12A workstation’s standard 6U framework includes a 12.1-in. TFT LCD monitor, two USB ports, an external floppy drive, CD-ROM drive, 5.25-in. bay, and an internal 3.5-in. bay. You can choose a backplane with up to 14 slots and fill the drive bays with any combination of 70 different drives. CyberResearch, Branford, CT. 203-483-8815; www.cyberresearch.com.
8-Bit Digitizer Card

The CompuScope 82GC waveform digitizer for the CompactPCI/PXI bus employs two 8-bit ADCs, each running at 1 Gsample/s for dual-channel simultaneous sampling. In single-channel mode, the CompuScope 82GC achieves a sampling rate of up to 2 Gsamples/s. The 6U card comes with 2, 8, or 16 Msamples of on-board acquisition memory. Bus mastering enables data transfer from on-board memory to host RAM at a rate of 80 Mbytes/s. In addition, the CompuScope 82GC lets you capture both pre-trigger and post-trigger data for rapidly occurring events with no data loss. Base price: $7995.
