Aeroflex at IMS 2009 announced it has expanded its PXI test platform with the addition of two new 3020 Series high-power and compact RF signal generators. The 3020 Series include integrated dual-channel arbitrary waveform generators and target R&D, manufacturing, and design verification of RF components and systems. The addition of the 3021C and 3026C extend the output power range of the 3020 Series to +17 dBm for frequencies up to 3 GHz and 6 GHz, respectively.
Weighing in at 1 kg and occupying three 3U PXI slots, the 3021C and the 3026C achieve low DC power consumption of less than 50 W. The 3026C has a frequency range of 1 MHz to 6 GHz with +17 dBm of output power. It can provide direct input stimulus to power amplifiers without the need for preamplification, or it can be used to provide a direct high-power LO input to frequency converters and modulators. The 3026C is suitable for use in test systems where test-fixture losses are high.
The 3021C RF signal generator has a frequency range of 100 kHz to 3 GHz. It offers the same performance specifications as the 3026C, but adds an extended low-end frequency range
