Changes underway to HBM device tests

The ESD Association reports that Working Group 5.1 has completed the initial draft of two standard practice documents, which consist of two alternate test methods for human body model (HBM) and machine model (MM) electrostatic discharge (ESD) tests on components. The drafts have been presented to the Technical and Administrative Support Committee for review. In addition, the Working Group has also begun preparing for the five-year review of ESD STM5.1-2001, which is scheduled for next year. The group expects to make technical revisions during the review. www.esda.org.
