  • Measure EM fields anywhere

    Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2004 2:00:00 AM

The Smart Fieldmeter measures electromagnetic fields at frequencies from 0.2 MHz to 3 GHz. You can use it to measure field strength in outdoor EMI test sites, for measuring intended emissions on cell phones and radio transmitters, or for measuring unintended emissions of any electronic product.

The meter's isotropic probe provides an omnidirectional measurement field. Use the probe for handheld measurements or use the included plastic tripod.

A 6-ft cable transfers the meter's analog output to a DMM or data-acquisition system so you can digitize the measurements and process them on a PC. Although the meter's digital display tops out at 2000 counts (2 V/m, 20 V/m, 200 V/m, or 600 V/m ranges), the analog output exceeds the three lower ranges by 50%. You can connect the analog output to a DMM or digitizer and measure at ranges of 3 V/m, 30 V/m, 300 V/m, and 600 V/m.
