Dalsa launches entry-level Camera Link frame grabber
-- Test & Measurement World, 6/22/2009 9:00:00 AM
Part of the Xcelera series of frame grabbers from Dalsa, the Xcelera-CL LX1 Base is an image-acquisition board intended for use with Camera Link Base cameras. Dalsa claims that the entry-level product is not only easy to set up and use, but also offers extensive software support.
Built on a quarter-length PCI Express x1 board, the Xcelera-CL LX1 Base handles Camera Link operations at pixel clock rates of up to 85 MHz and acquires images from a variety of mutli-tap area and line-scan, color and monochrome cameras. The board uses hardware and software to control, monitor, and correct image acquisition, from the time that an external trigger event occurs to the moment the data is sent to the host, providing traceability when errors occur and recovery from those errors.
All of the frame grabbers in the Xcelera series work with Dalsa's Sapera Essential software, which bundles board-level acquisition and control with image processing tools that support 1-D and 2-D barcodes, OCR, pattern finding, color analysis, blob analysis, and lens correction. A runtime license is available at no additional charge when combined with the frame grabber. This license includes access to over 400 image processing functions.
The Xcelera-CL LX1 Base frame grabber costs $495.
