  • LXI switches go high voltage and low loss

By Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 9/1/2007 2:00:00 AM

Pickering Interfaces has added two models to its line of LXI-based switch systems: the high-voltage Model 60-310 and the low-thermal-EMF Model 60-510. The Model 60-310 can hot-switch 500-VDC signals or cold switch 1000-VDC signals through a 300x2 two-pole switching matrix that resides in a 2U-size enclosure. You can use the Model 60-310 to perform insulation tests on cable harnesses and PCBs as well as to perform breakdown testing on semiconductor devices, relays, and switches. The switch module uses rhodium-plated reed relays and is also available in 100-switch and 200-switch versions.

The Model 60-510 contains a 56x33 matrix that can switch 150-VDC signals with current up to 1 A. Also housed in a 2U-size enclosure, the 60-510 uses ruthenium-sputtered contacts. Typical loss from thermal EMF is less than 2.5 mV.

    Base prices: 60-310—$12,155; 60-510—$11,295. Pickering Interfaces, www.pickeringtest.com.
