STUTTGART, GERMANY. Basler Vision Technologies (www.basler-vc.com) introduced at the Vision 2004 trade fair held here this week three new cameras: a color line-scan camera and two area-scan cameras.
The new color line-scan camera is the L304kc, a 3-line by 4080-pixel device that incorporates a 3-line CCD sensor and that supports line rates to 7.2 kHz. It employs the trilinear technology described by Basler marketing manager Hardy Mehl in a presentation October 19 (www.reed electronics.com/tmworld/article/CA472946.html). It features a selectable 8- or 10-bit output as well as electronic exposure time control and integrated spatial correction. Full production is expected to begin in 2005.
The new area cameras include the A622f, a 1.3-megapixel camera that incorporates an IEEE 1394 interface and that can provide up to 24 frames/second, and the A40k, a 4-megapixel, 96-frame-per-second product. Both area-scan cameras can provide higher output rates when used in conjunction with the vendor’s “Area of Interest” technology.
