Mecmesin debuts digital torque tester

Mecmesin, a manufacturer of force and torque testing equipment, has announced the launch of the Tornado digital torque tester. The Tornado is designed to assess the low-level torques associated with small rotating components in automotive and other applications. The Tornado provides for pass/fail alerting with five programmable memory settings. It includes a facility to characterize the two torque peaks associated with tamper-evident closures, it has an onboard memory that stores up to 500 readings, and it includes a bidirectional data interface for easy export of results.
Designed for laboratory or production use, the compact and portable Tornado features a water-resistant casing fabricated in nonpainted polypropylene. Four capacity models are available: 13 lbf-in., 26 lbf-in., 50 lbf-in., and 90 lbf-in. An adjustable mounting plate grips the base of a sample, presenting it for application of clockwise or counterclockwise torque by hand. Five dedicated function keys on the tester’s membrane keypad provide quick access to the most commonly used functions.
