  • Transmit-quality DACs

    Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 10/1/2005 2:00:00 AM

Analog Devices' TxDAC transmit digital-to-analog converters are useful for communication, industrial instrumentation, and portable applications that need to efficiently synthesize broadband signals with the lowest power consumption. The AD970X family reduces power dissipation by up to 70% over previous DAC offerings. Delivering update rates at 175 Msamples/s, the 14-bit AD9707 operates over a power supply range of 1.7V to 3.6V. The family also includes the AD9706, AD9705, and AD9704, which are 12-bit, 10-bit, and 8-bit DACs, respectively. At 3.3V, the devices dissipate 35 mW of power, dropping to just 12 mW at 1.8V. Price: $2.75 to $5.75, depending on resolution (1000 units).
