Useful for a wide variety of laser diode development and QA tasks, the 500B series of laser diode drivers comprises four current sources offering up to 0.1 A, 0.5 A, 2.5 A, and 6.0 A of maximum output. The 6.0-A model is adjustable with a resolution of just 0.12 mA, while noise reduction circuitry lowers ripple to less than 2.5 µA. All models operate in either constant-current or constant-light output mode and also accept external modulation. The modulation bandwidth ranges up to about 800 kHz for the 0.1-A model.
