  • Agilent's mini passive probes cover DC to 1.5 GHz

    -- Test & Measurement World, 6/30/2009 9:00:00 AM

The N2870A series of miniature passive oscilloscope probes and accessories from Agilent Technologies has bandwidths from DC to 1.5 GHz for use in high-speed digital applications. A probe head diameter of 2.5 mm, low input capacitance, and various fine-pitch probe-tip accessories make these devices suitable for probing densely populated IC components and surface-mount devices.

The sharp probe tip is spring loaded to help keep the probe from slipping off the device under test. Insulating IC caps keep the small probe tip centered on the IC lead and keep it from shorting adjacent leads.

N2870A series probes are available with attenuation ratios of 1:1, 10:1, 20:1, and 100:1 and probe bandwidths of DC to 35 MHz, 200 MHz, 350 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1.5 GHz. Agilent's Infiniium 9000 series oscilloscopes come equipped with one N2873A 500-MHz, 10:1 passive probe per channel.

Prices for the N2870A series of passive probes start at $220.
