Vivid Engineering introduces Camera Link video splitter
-- Test & Measurement World, 5/26/2009 9:00:00 AM
Housed in a compact aluminum enclosure, the CLV-411 video splitter from Vivid Engineering interfaces one Camera Link camera with up to four frame grabbers using standard Camera Link cables. This enables the use of multiple frame grabbers for applications requiring parallel or distributed processing.
One frame grabber acts as the master and provides control and communications to the camera. The remaining frame grabbers receive camera video data only. The master frame grabber is selectable and can be dynamically changed via opto-isolated inputs for applications requiring camera control sharing. Front-panel LEDs on the CLV-411 identify the master frame grabber.
The CLV-411 incorporates an 85-MHz interface chipset and supports the Camera Link base configuration. Two CLV-411 video splitters can be used to accommodate Camera Link medium configurations, while multiple units can be cascaded for large parallel processing systems.
