  • Protek's 3-phase clamp meter measures up to 600 kW

    -- Test & Measurement World, 11/19/2008 4:00:00 PM

Joining Protek’s lineup of clamp-on meters is the Model 667C, which measures 3-phase, 3-wire; 3-phase, 4-wire; and single-phase circuits to 600 V at 1000 A with true, reactive, and apparent power measurements to 600 kW. The true-RMS, auto-ranging power meter features a 10,000-count, 4-digit dual LCD that can display five parameters of a phase measurement, and a power meter that can store up to 28 measurements in memory.

With its 2-in. jaw opening, the Model 667C measures volts, amps, kilowatts, voltamperes, voltamperes reactive, kilowatt hours, power factor, and frequency. It operates on four 1.5-V AA batteries and includes an RS-232 serial interface and power monitoring software. For added value, the clamp meter comes with a hard plastic carrying case that accommodates the supplied test leads, test clamps, RS-232 cable, and software. The Model 667C costs $345.
