ACS adds military testing through Rubicom acquisition

Atlanta-based Advanced Compliance Solutions (ACS) has acquired Rubicom Systems, a provider of aerospace and military test services for more than 20 years. The acquisition greatly expands ACS’ EMC test services, which already include product safety, wireless certifications, and environmental testing and regulatory approval services.
Rubicom, which is located in Melbourne, FL, specializes in testing for military, aerospace, and defense applications and counts Northrop Grumman, Rockwell Collins, and Avidyne as customers. Rubicom will double its staff as part of the deal. Previously an EMC test lab solely for the military, aerospace, and defense markets, Rubicom now offers commercial testing services similar to ACS, including wireless certification and product safety testing.
“We are expanding our business geographically and through additional product offerings,” said ACS cofounder Scott Proffitt. “Rubicom moves us squarely into the defense and aerospace markets.”
Proffitt anticipates that Rubicom’s revenues will grow 50% because of the deal, and the new addition will contribute an additional 30% to ACS’ total revenues. ACS is growing rapidly, as well, and is expected to boost revenues by 50%, according to Proffitt.
