High-intensity sound pressure sensors
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2005 2:00:00 AM
Series 106 and Series 116 hermetically sealed piezoelectric microphones measure low-level pressure, as well as acoustic and ultrasonic high-intensity sound pressure levels. The stainless-steel devices detect rapid pressure transients, pulsations, turbulence, noise, and spikes for troubleshooting equipment and tuning processes. Sensors withstand high static background pressures, offer a sensitivity of up to 5000 mV/psi (725 mV/kPa), and feature a solid-state construction with no moving parts. Charge-mode units are suitable for use in temperatures to +750°F (+400°C). PCB Piezotronics, PCB Division, www.pcb.com.
