  • BVS launches fixed WiMAX test module

    -- Test & Measurement World, 8/19/2009 9:00:00 AM

Berkeley Varitronics System now offers a fixed WiMAX 802.16d test module for its YellowFin platform of WiMAX analyzers. The module supports multiple user-selectable channel bandwidths of 1.75 MHz, 3.0 MHz, 3.5 MHz, 5.0 MHz, 5.5 MHz, 7.0 MHz, and 10 MHz.

The YellowFin Fixed WiMAX analyzer is a portable, calibrated, demodulating WiMAX test receiver. This handheld unit employs a Panasonic Toughbook tablet PC as an interface in conjunction with Berkeley's receiver for performing spectrum analysis and WiMAX packet demodulation. The receiver sweeps the 2.0-GHz to 5.9-GHz spectrums accurate to within ±1.5 dB. Features include power trigger, peak hold/search, markers, and multiple waveform traces. WiMAX 802.16d packet analysis includes RSSI measurements, cell ID and segment information, multipath analysis, and CINR on a preamble basis.

Berkeley will demonstrate the fixed WiMAX test module at the upcoming 4G World conference and expo in Chicago.
