TimePictra 4.0 from Symmetricom delivers critical management of carrier-class IEEE 1588 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) synchronization for Ethernet backhaul deployment. Offering enhanced network visibility and management of PTP servers and clients, TimePictra 4.0 allows carriers to monitor their entire IEEE 1588 sync network consisting of multiple vendors' clients-all from a centralized location.
The Web-enabled synchronization-management platform has a scalable, modular, multivendor architecture that evolves with the network, integrating with higher-level systems and rapidly identifying problems in an NOC (network operation center) environment. By continuously monitoring the health of the timing network, service providers can be alerted of performance degradation, thereby assuring quality of service.
