The HSi-300 and HSi-400 hyperspectral imaging systems from Optronic Laboratories now work with µ-Manager, an open-source application software platform for imaging and control of automated microscopes on multiple operating systems. Developed by Vale Laboratory at UCSF, µ-Manager plug-ins are available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. In addition, µ-Manager is bundled with ImageJ, a Java-based image-processing program developed at the National Institutes of Health.
At the heart of the hyperspectral imaging systems is an AOTF (acousto-optical tunable filter) imaging module that offers spectral flexibility and fast switching. These imaging systems cover spectral ranges of 450 nm to 800 nm and 500 nm to 900 nm and are currently integrated with Andor's iXon electron-multiplying CCD cameras. They can be used for remote sensing, fluorescence and transmission, materials identification, biomedical imaging, and homeland security.
