EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering claims that its ETS-1000 Ethernet analyzer enables reliable turn-up and installation of carrier-grade Ethernet services over metro networks. The focused feature set of the ETS-1000 delivers specific functionality and ease-of-use required by field technicians to meet demanding Ethernet network testing and compliance measurements. The handheld 10M to 1GigE test unit provides two independent test ports. Technicians can transmit up to Layer 4 traffic with fully configurable VLAN (virtual local area network), MPLS (multiprotocol label switching), and QoS (quality of service) parameters. This entry-level analyzer supports all of the necessary Ethernet/IP field-testing capabilities, including RFC-2544, bit error rate, and packet jitter, as well as multistream generation and analysis.
In addition to the ETS-1000, EXFO has launched the ETS-1000L, a dedicated handheld Ethernet loopback device that supports simple user configuration for full wire-speed testing from Layer 1 through Layer 4. Both the ETS-1000 and ETS-1000L are fully interoperable with all EXFO Ethernet products.
