  • Adlink's PoE frame grabber sports two GigE channels

    -- Test & Measurement World, 1/20/2010 7:00:00 AM

Joining Adlink Technology's power-over-cable series of frame grabbers is the GIE62+, a PCI Express x4 card that provides two independent Gigabit Ethernet ports for multiple GigE Vision device connections with data transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps. Compliance with the IEEE 802.3af PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) standard enables the GIE62+ frame grabber to implement a single-cable solution through the combination of power and data lines, simplifying installation and lowering maintenance costs.

The GIE62+ supports the LACP (link aggregation control protocol), which allows its two Gigabit Ethernet ports to be configured as a LAG (link aggregation group) and provide a sustained maximum data rate of 2 Gbps. The frame grabber also provides PD (powered device) automatic detection and classification within the system to ensure reliable connections between other PoE and non-PoE cameras and frame-grabber cards. In addition, the card supplies two TTL digital inputs, two outputs, and two programmable trigger pulses to connect to external devices, such as position sensors and strobe lighting.

The GIE62+ two-channel Gigabit Ethernet frame grabber costs $279.
