Yokogawa's analyzer covers entire visible-light spectrum

Capable of measuring wavelengths ranging from 350 nm to 1200 nm, the AQ6373 optical spectrum analyzer from Yokogawa serves as an upgrade to the AQ6315 series for this wavelength range by providing faster processing, more built-in analysis functions, and simplified data processing. The AQ6373 is suitable for R&D, manufacturing, and academic environments that require a comprehensive view of the entire visible wavelength. It not only measures laser and LED light, but also the wavelength transmission and loss characteristics of optical filters and other types of passive components.

The AQ6373 combines diffraction grating, for high dynamic range and level sensitivity, with reduced measurement times to create a system that will decrease test and measurement time. A single sweep can cover the entire wavelength range, or the range can be narrowed for more focused measurements. With free-space optical inputs, the AQ6373 can measure light from large-core, multimode, and single-mode fibers without additional options or changing connectors. In addition, a built-in screen allows for easy analysis of data in real time using a mouse, keyboard, or front-panel function keys.

"The AQ6373 allows up to 7 individual traces to be controlled at one time or used for the 13 built-in data-analysis functions, including the CIE 1931 color-matching function," said Allan Phillips, product manager, optical test and measurement. "This reduces analysis time allowing the user more time for experimentation and innovation."

Equipped with Ethernet, USB, and GPIB ports, the AQ6373 optical spectrum analyzer enables easy data exchange and remote programming. It also includes a macro function for repetitive measurements and analysis. With the AQ6370 viewer software, you can view and control the analyzer via the Internet.
