Averna adds Tele Atlas maps to GPS test tool
Personal navigation devices simulate complex vehicle trajectories and traffic conditions.

Averna has incorporated maps from global digital-map and dynamic-content provider Tele Atlas into its NAVASIM (Navigation Advanced Simulator) software for GPS receiver validation. Users testing navigation functions in electronic devices can now easily recreate road routes in the lab by pointing and clicking on Tele Atlas maps, instead of entering navigation waypoints manually or performing costly test drives.Manufacturers of smart phones, personal navigation devices, and in-vehicle navigation systems can use NAVASIM, part of Averna's URT (Universal Receiver Tester) line of RF products, to test GPS and RDS-TCM (traffic-messaging) signal reception in their receivers, while simulating complex vehicle trajectories and traffic conditions across the US and Europe.
Tele Atlas global digital maps, the foundation for a wide range of personal and in-vehicle navigation systems and mobile and Internet map applications, span more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. These maps include navigable coverage of more than 19.6 million miles of roadway and 26 million points of interest.
