  • Elliott Labs relocates Sunnyvale test operations

Five spacious EMC labs are also available for a wide variety of immunity tests.

    -- Test & Measurement World, 7/20/2010 7:00:00 AM

Compliance-testing provider Elliott Laboratories announced the shift of all Sunnyvale operations to its existing laboratories in Fremont and Newark, CA. The move stems from Elliott's growth in its core services and will enable the company to expand and upgrade these services in Fremont. As part of this development, the Sunnyvale location will be shutting down in the weeks ahead with key testing facilities and equipment being moved to Fremont and Newark.

The Fremont location, a 27,000 square foot testing facility, will serve the Silicon Valley's EMC and wireless test requirements. "We assessed the level of demand for our services and ultimately decided that this was the right time to make this strategic move to invest in the future of the company," said Eddie Pavlu, VP of telecom and consumer product markets. "Our customers now have true one-stop shopping for all of their product testing and certification requirements right here in the Bay Area."

The development ties in with the company's recent addition of a new laboratory in Newark, CA, to include climatic, environmental, and dynamics product testing. This new location is over 30,000 square feet and houses a wide range of state-of-the-art testing equipment for performing such services as shock and vibration testing, thermal stress, and extreme environmental simulation.

Elliott's Fremont location is currently undergoing a major expansion effort in order to align with the strategic move. In addition to the three anechoic testing chambers currently being used for radiated emissions testing, a 5-meter semi-anechoic chamber has been custom built by ETS-Lindgren. A new 3-meter chamber has recently been installed primarily for radiated immunity testing, and the radiated immunity chamber from Sunnyvale will be installed by the end of July. Five spacious EMC labs are also available for a wide variety of immunity tests.
