Advantech's multifunction DAQ module plugs into USB port

For users looking for a low-cost personal measurement tool, the USB-4704 data-acquisition module from Advantech offers eight singled-ended or four differential analog-input channels at a price of just $190. The USB-4704, which is part of the USB-4700 series of plug-and-play data-acquisition modules, lets you add measurement and control capability to any USB-enabled computer.

Analog-input channels have 14-bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 48 ksamples/s. The USB-4704 also provides two 12-bit analog-output channels, eight digital inputs, and eight digital outputs, plus one counter channel that outputs a constant-frequency square wave.
