  • Ixia’s IxVeriWave enables WiFi site assessment

IxVeriWave validates WiFi service capacity and quality.

    -- Test & Measurement World, 11/3/2011 12:46:57 PM

Ixia claims that its IxVeriWave platform redefines the process of evaluating WiFi cellular offload. IxVeriWave validates WiFi service capacity and quality, as opposed to current solutions that are limited to simply checking network availability. By expanding beyond conventional site surveys, operators can now gauge and fine-tune WiFi networks to deliver a higher quality of experience for end users.

The IxVeriWave suite of tools tests wireless LAN networks using a client-centric model. The company says that this approach delivers repeatable, large-scale, real-world test scenarios that are virtually impossible to create by any other means. By emulating large numbers of clients, traffic mixes, and WiFi-connected devices, rather than rolling hundreds of devices on carts, IxVeriWave’s WaveTest functional and performance analysis system reduces test cycles from months to days.

IxVeriWave comprises a number of test suites, test tools, interface cards, chassis, and chambers.

Prices: WaveTest traffic generator/analyzer— about $100,000 for a typical configuration. WaveDeploy software—from $5000 to $25,000.
