According to EPIX, the PIXCI E8 frame grabber supports the fastest Camera Link cameras on the market. In fact, it works with more than 900 line-scan and area-scan Camera Link cameras in extended, full, medium, base, and dual-base configurations, including PoCL (Power over Camera Link). The board can be installed in computers with a PCI Express x8 or x16 bus slot and at least 512 Mbytes of memory. Designed to take advantage of 64-bit memory addressing, the PIXCI E8 streams image data directly to terabytes of computer memory to allow sequence capture for extended periods of time. Multiple frame grabbers can be used in a computer to capture image data from several cameras or cameras with more than two Camera Link connectors.
Accommodating pixel clock frequencies of up to 85 MHz, the PIXCI E3 supports the camera's maximum horizontal resolution, vertical resolution, frame rate, and bit depth. The CE and RoHS-compliant board comes with XCAP-Lite imaging software for camera control and image capture.
The PIXCI E8 frame grabber costs $1295, including XCAP-Lite imaging software.
