Narda triples EMC test range of digital receiver

18-GHz extension module offers fiber-optic communication.

A digital EMC/EMI receiver unit from Narda Safety Test Solutions extends the frequency range of the PMM 9010 digital receiver system to 18 GHz. The PMM 9180 extension unit directly connects to an antenna located inside a test chamber and transmits data outside the test chamber via a high-speed fiber-optic interface, eliminating signal losses that can exceed 20 dB.

Fully compliant with CISPR 16-1-1 and MIL-STD-461 RE102 requirements, the PM 9180 covers a frequency range from 6 GHz to 18 GHz. It accepts a maximum input level of 137 dBµV (1 W) without damage and achieves measurement accuracy of +2.0 dB. The unit, which operates over a temperature range of −5°C to +45°C, is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery that lasts for a minimum of 4 hours.

The PMM 9010 receiver system and PM 9180 extension module are compatible with Narda's PMM Emissions Suite software. In addition to full control of all automatic and manual receiver functions, the software utility offers one-click operation for selecting swept, spectrum, analyzer, and tuned measurement modes. It lets you edit standard limits and create correction-factor tables, while providing a real-time display and warning messages for incorrect settings.
