  • L-com USB 3.0 cables employ bulkhead connector

Contact have 30 µin. of gold plating to withstand repeated mating cycles.

    -- Test & Measurement World, 1/19/2012 7:00:00 AM

L-com has added USB 3.0 cable assemblies with a Type A female bulkhead connector to its inventory of wired and wireless connectivity products. These fully shielded assemblies allow cables to be passed through panels or enclosures and feature L-com's ECF504-style housing, which mounts to virtually any panel thickness using an electrically grounded flange.

Offered with cable lengths of 0.3 m, 0.5 m, 0.75 m, and 1.0 m, each assembly has a USB 3.0 Type A female bulkhead connector on one end and a Type A male connector on the other. Contacts have 30 µin. of gold plating to withstand repeated mating cycles and ensure reliable connections. A multilayered PCB in the bulkhead maintains USB 3.0 speed and performance, which is up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0, with speeds reaching 4.8 Gbps.

The screw-mounted cable assemblies are easily installed on panels or chassis to provide access to hard-to-reach or secured USB 3.0 ports. The recommended 4-40 mounting screws are available separately.

Single-unit prices range from $18.50 to $19.75, depending on the cable length. Custom lengths are available upon request subject to minimum quantity requirements.
