The MAPS-010146 and MAPS-010166 are X-band additions to M/A-COM's family of digital phase shifters. Each of these devices has been optimized to minimize the variation in attenuation over their phase shift range and can be used in communication antennas, phased-array radar, and EW (electronic warfare) receivers.Housed in a 4-mm PQFN package, the MAPS-010146 is a GaAs pHEMT 4-bit digital phase shifter with an integrated CMOS driver. It is controlled with a single +5-V serial or parallel control line and provides phase shift from 0° to 360° in 22.5° steps. Insertion loss is 6.5 dB, with low ±1.0-dB attenuation variation and ±10.0° phase accuracy over a frequency range of 8.0 GHz to 12.0 GHz.
A 6-bit digital phase shifter, the MAPS-010166 provides phase shift from 0° to 360° in 5.625° steps. Like the MAPS-010146, the MAPS-010166 comes in a 4-mm PQFN and is controlled with a single +5-V serial or parallel control line. Insertion loss is 6.5 dB, with ±1.2-dB attenuation variation and ±8.0° phase accuracy over a frequency range of 8.0 GHz to 12.0 GHz.
