Used for band switching in multichannel and multimode base stations, two high-isolation terminated switches from M/A-COM operate from 0.01 GHz to 4.0 GHz. The MASW-010350 is a single-pole four-throw (SP4T) switch that provides isolation of 60 dB at 2.1 GHz, while the MASW-010351 is a single-pole five-throw (SP5T) device providing isolation of 51 dB at 2.1 GHz.Both switches house a GaAs pHEMT switch die and a CMOS driver die in a 4-mm PQFN package. With a symmetric circuit design and integrated CMOS decoder, the switches maintain a good combination of low insertion loss and high isolation for all states. Insertion loss for the MASW-010350 and MASW-010351 is 0.8 dB and 1.0 dB, respectively, at 2.1 GHz.
M/A-COM also introduced the MAAD-000523, a 6-bit digital attenuator that covers a frequency range of 0.7 GHz to 6.0 GHz with adjustable attenuation to 31.5 dB in 0.5-dB steps. The device, which is housed in a 4-mm PQFN package, includes an integrated TTL/CMOS-compatible driver and allows parallel or serial control. It has small relative phase variation per bit and keeps insertion loss to 1.6 dB at 2 GHz. Typical input return loss is 18 dB up to 6 GHz. Applications for the MAAD-000523 include cellular base stations and femtocells.
Production quantities and samples of all three devices are available from stock.
