  • Add-ins customize Agilent compliance software

    User-defined add-ins can control any SCPI-compliant instrument.

    -- Test & Measurement World, 2/10/2012 7:00:00 AM

    An enhancement to Agilent's N5467A user-defined application software gives engineers the ability to develop extensions that can be plugged into existing Infiniium compliance applications for USB, PCIe, DDR, SATA, HDMI, MIPI, Ethernet, and other technologies. According to Agilent, this add-in capability allows you to rapidly automate custom measurements on your Infiniium real-time oscilloscope.

    Add-ins are useful when existing compliance applications do not provide the exact measurement or automation capabilities required. When installed, they are fully integrated into the application. In addition, add-ins can control any SCPI-based instrument connected to a network via Agilent's IO Libraries Suite.

    You can design add-ins as:
        •Complete custom tests with configuration variables and connection prompts;
       •Pre- and post-processing scripts, such as Matlab, LabView, Phython, C++, and Visual Basic;
       •External instrument controllers for pattern generators, probe switches, and other devices; and
       •DUT controllers to transmit specific test patterns and test modes.

    The add-in development environment is free for downloading at www.agilent.com/find/uda. Once add-ins are installed into an existing compliance application, the N5467A Infiniium option license is required. The N5467A application costs $3500.
