Teradyne and Marconi integrate test systems
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 3/1/2003
Marconi Selenia Communications will use the M910 digital test instrument (DTI) from Teradyne (Westford, MA; http://www.teradyne.com) in its general-purpose automatic test equipment (GPATE) platform. The project is part of Marconi Selenia Communications' development of test-engineering support for military and aerospace systems, including the Typhoon and Tornado fighter jets and the NH90 helicopter. Marconi will use the platform for the first time on the Canadian Air Force EH101 Helicopter.
The flexible GPATE architecture can be used in many applications under various field conditions. For example, the system can test as many as 60 of the line replaceable units (LRUs) of the NH90 helicopter.
Teradyne's M9-Series DTI consists of C-size VXI instruments for high-performance digital testing and open software. Its VXIplug&play software driver and hardware allow users to integrate the M9-Series with other instruments in VXI-based test systems.
