Company tailors eyewear-based displays for inspection

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 3/1/2003

An eyewear-based display technology originally designed for oscilloscopes and other instruments now works with nondestructive inspection and test applications. MicroOptical (Westwood, MA) has unveiled the 28-g Color Video Viewer (CV-1) portable display that connects to infrared cameras, video-inspection systems, and other devices with either NTSC or PAL output.

The viewer features a combination of optics, electronics, and micro-display technology that enables users to perceive a full-sized screen 2 ft in front of their eyes. The display's virtual image does not obstruct vision, so users can still focus on their work. The viewer can attach to standard eyeglasses and safety glasses. http://www.microoptical.net.
