Logic analyzer software
A software package for the TLA family of logic analyzers enables the development of next-generation network equipment operating at speeds of 10 Gbits/s and beyond. The TCS101 software delivers a system-level design and debug tool for designs using SPI-3 and SPI-4.2 buses. It provides both analog and digital timing and clocking, as well as channel-naming capability. Price: $7000. Tektronix, Beaverton, OR. 800-426-2200, request code 1283; www.tektronix.com .
Ultra320 SCSI bus analyzer
With the release of SCSI-View 5.0, the Verisys SV-8320 Ultra320 SCSI bus analyzer provides a logical view of the sequencing within Ultra320 Information Unit (IU) transfers. The SV-8320's phase view now decodes the IU into LQ packets, commands, and data. By providing clear delineation of packet structures, including training sequences and pacing data, SCSI-View 5.0 provides insight into Ultra320 debugging and analysis. DVI analyzer
Outfitted with two digital video interface (DVI) connectors, the 802B DVI-SASI analyzer lets you know if your products meet DVI error specifications, as well as determine interoperability with other DVI-based products. One connector is equivalent to the familiar DVI output found on existing generators, which emulates a host by generating video signals. The second connector allows the 802B to emulate a high-performance display and analyze inbound video coming from either the generator itself or an external source. Test-sequence collection
Contained on five DVDs, this compendium of professional test patterns and data streams can be used for audio, video, and EMC measurements in development and conformance testing, as well as for objective testing of video and audio signals. The set supplies more than 250 different video and audio sequences, plus a selection of data streams for measuring the reliability of systems with DVD components. Test Instruments
Dual counter/timer
The PRM-400 precision rate meter incorporates a dual counter/timer capable of operating at repetition rates of greater than 500 MHz with a time base of 10 ms to 10 s. The meter features zero dead time operation, where one counter is counting while the other is unloading its data. The instrument accepts standard TTL, ECL, and NIM inputs, and it outputs data via an IEEE 488, parallel, or RS-232 interface. Advanced Research Instruments, Wheat Ridge, CO. 303-463-5500; www.aricorp.com .
Low-profile power supplies
Just 1U high, Kepro's hot-swappable power supplies provide single outputs from 5 V to 48 V and up to 100 W of output power. What's more, you can mount up to four 50-W or 100-W modules in a 1.75-in. rack adapter. The RA 19-1U rack adapter lets you configure the system from the rear without disassembly and offers the ability to create a double-redundant system. The front panel of each plug-in module features an on/off switch, test points, voltage trim pot, and VDC LED indicator. Price: 50-W module—$280; 100-W module—$365; RA 19-1U—$525. Timing interval analyzer
Boasting larger memory and higher speed than its predecessors, the TA720 timing interval analyzer continuously measures signals from fast-rotating optical disks to allow accurate jitter analysis. The analyzer has a maximum sampling rate of 80 Msamples/s and a maximum memory capacity of 1024 ksamples. The TA720 adds new functions, such as dual measurement, inter-symbol interference analysis, and an optional Ethernet and PC Card interface. Yokogawa, Newnan, GA. 770-254-0400; www.us.yokogawa.com .
Arbitrary waveform generator
You can control the Model 632 arbitrary waveform generator from its front-panel keypad or through an RS-232 interface. The signal source is fully synthesized from DC to 31.5 MHz with 0.001% accuracy. The instrument also offers a number of operating modes, including pulse, phase modulation, DTMF generation/detection, and burst and power-level measurement. Onboard memory lets you save and restore 10 complete front-panel setups. Berkeley Nucleonics, San Rafael, CA. 415-453-9955; www.berkeleynucleonics.com .
