Reseller agreement improves systems design
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 4/1/2003
An EDA company and a design services company have joined forces to give communication systems designers a way of validating their designs before committing to silicon. Aptix (San Jose, CA; http://www.aptix.com) provides prototyping tools and platforms for embedded systems design. ZAIQ Technologies (Woburn, MA; http://www.zaiqtech.com) provides reusable intellectual property for communication systems as well as design services. Together, the companies will offer a method of validating prototype designs at the transaction level.
The agreement allows Aptix to offer ZAIQ's Pre-configured Reusable Environment for testing Platform (PREP) and its SYSTEMware component libraries to Aptix customers. The tools and libraries will allow Aptix customers to validate their designs in FPGA prototype form. The validation occurs at the transaction level, speeding up the validation process.
Products offered under the agreement include the PREP platform and component library, along with a methodology for testing designs. The library includes Ethernet, SPI, SFI, PCI, PCIX, Optical Channel Bundle, and Packet Over SONET components. Components will be made available over time, with first deliveries in Q2 2003.
