Test Probes
A family of six oscilloscope test probes
lets you hand probe surface-mount device environments where space is limited and
test points are difficult to reach. The probes work with standard oscilloscopes
through a BNC connection and employ a sharp, spring-loaded tip that minimizes
pressure on the DUT. You can use the probes for applications ranging from
low-mass, low-impedance measurements to testing high-power discrete components.

Laser Encoder
The RLE fiber-optic laser encoder is an
interferometer-based system that provides high-resolution position feedback for
applications with single or dual axes and axis lengths of up to 4 m. It operates
from a single laser source and uses fiber-optic links to transport the laser
beam directly to the axis measuring position. The system produces digital
feedback down to 10-nm resolution, as well as a 1-V pk-pk analog output that can
be externally interpolated to nanometer levels. An optional real-time
compensation system enables the RLE to achieve position accuracy of 1 ppm over a
wide range of environmental conditions. Renishaw, Hoffman Estates, IL.

Diode Laser Systems
Operating at wavelengths of 635,
640, 660, and 785 nm, the 56 ICS CleanBeam series of diode laser systems
delivers output power ranging from 7 to 35 mW. Standard systems can be modulated
to 5 MHz or optionally to 350 MHz. The fully self-contained units are useful for
laser-induced fluorescence metrology applications, as well as other applications
where compact size, low noise, constant power, high beam quality, and long life
are required. Melles Griot, Longmont, CO. 800-326-4363; www.mellesgriot.com.
Optical Component Analyzer
Two new options for the
OMU-953 passive component spectrum analyzer enable the measurement of
polarization-dependent center wavelength (PDCW) and polarization-dependent
bandwidth (PDBW). What’s more, the OMU-953 automatically and simultaneously
determines insertion loss, polarization-dependent loss, PDCW, and PDBW over the
full CRL band in less than 8 s with wavelength accuracy of l1.8 pm. dBm Optics,

Signal Conditioning Module
An accessory
for the WaveBook series of waveform acquisition and analysis systems, the WBK18
supplies eight channels of dynamic signal input conditioning. The
module accepts input
from piezoelectric accelerometers, piezoelectric pressure sensors, piezoelectric
microphones, proximity sensors, or any other dynamic input source. In addition,
the WBK18 works with TEDS-compatible sensors. All channels are sampled
simultaneously to ensure phase matching between channels. Up to eight WBK18
