Boeing selects Teradyne to build next-gen testers

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 6/1/2003

The Boeing Company recently announced that it had signed an agreement with Teradyne (Boston, MA) under which Teradyne will manufacture and market a new automatic test system (ATS) for airplane avionics components. The Next Generation (NxGen) ATS replaces the current ATS-182 for testing 737, 747, 757 and 767 components and the ATS-195 for 777 components.

The NxGen ATS will be based on Teradyne's Spectrum 9000-Series functional test system. The open system architecture of the 9000-Series will allow Boeing and other customers to tailor the test system to their needs and to test both Boeing and non-Boeing components.
