SAE and CTEA form joint program office

SAE International (SAE) and the Convergence Transportation Electronics Association (CTEA) have joined forces to create the Convergence Transportation Electronics Program Office. Housed within the operating structure of SAE, the Program Office will monitor the activities of SAE and CTEA in the area of transportation electronics and related fields; identify areas of opportunity and synergy, such as new products, services, and programs; coordinate activities as appropriate; and propose new joint activities.
The Program Office consists of leaders from both SAE and CTEA. Myron Trenne, VP at Yazaki North America, will serve as chairman. Other confirmed members include Jacqui Dedo (Motorola's VP and general manager, Worldwide Market Operations Automotive, Communications and Electronic Systems), Robert Rivard (VP at Robert Bosch Corp.), Leonard Tedesco (Visteon), and Cary Wilson (Director Electrical /Electronic Systems at Ford Motor Co.).
Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly operate the popular biennial Convergence Conference and Exhibition beginning with Convergence 2006. http://www.sae.org.
