Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 8/1/2003
Ford Motor Co. recently christened a new research and development facility in Windsor, ON, Canada, that has an extensive testing laboratory. The $13 million Powertrain Engineering Research & Development Centre (PERDC) houses a team of Ford engineers, who will be working with graduate students from the University of Windsor's Faculty of Engineering to study engine performance variability.
The PERDC will perform computer-aided tests on engines and transmissions. Testing will initially focus on Windsor-produced 3.9- and 4.2-litre V-6 engines, and the Triton family of V-8 and V-10 engines. http://www.ford.com.
