Online quote system keeps design flow moving

Obtaining quotes for design and fabrication of custom RF test sockets can slow down the design process. Typically such quotes can take a week to obtain. Interconnection product manufacturer Aries Electronics (Frenchtown, NJ) has reduced the delay to less than a minute by introducing an online quote system.
"Since many designers work under tight time constraints, when they need information, they need it quickly," says Aries president and CEO Bill Sinclair. "We developed our system so they could instantly have information and be able to keep their design process moving."
The Aries Insta-Quote system covers the company's Microstrip, Interposer, and Spring-Probe RF socket line and provides pricing and delivery information directly to the designer's desktop. Obtaining the quote is a three-step process that includes entering device dimensions, operating frequency, socket material, and the like. In addition, designers must send a detailed drawing of the package for the device being tested. The quote will include setup charges for creating the custom socket, a unique part number for easy ordering, and will be valid for 30 days. The company will also provide the contact information of a local representative that designers can go to with questions. http://www.arieselec.com/rf/aries_rf_test_sockets_page.htm.
