Schenck DevelopmentTest Systems, part of Schenck Pegasus (Troy, MI), has been awarded a contract to supply two heavy-duty diesel test systems to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL; Ann Arbor, MI). These systems will help the EPA test large engines operating on a variety of fuels.
Each system will include a data-acquisition system, an engine dynamometer, an engine throttle controller/positioner, and a safety-monitoring system. The systems will be based on STARS—an open test cell platform developed by SRH Systems, a venture of Schenck Pegasus, Ricardo, and Horiba. www.rta.ricardo.com.
