UK's RA wants CISPR 14 to be "more relevant"
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 11/1/2003
The Radiocommunications Agency (RA) of the UK has released a detailed report on CISPR Publication 14, Part 1 (Emissions from household appliances, electric tools, and similar apparatus). The report, entitled "Study into how CISPR 14, Part 1 may be improved to make it more relevant and accessible," is a detailed review of the standard and recommends changes that the RA believes are critical.
One of the recommendations is that "radiated field requirements up to 1 GHz should be included as a matter of urgency for all products, and that an upgrade path for testing up to 2 GHz should be under consideration." A second recommendation is that "the 'click' requirement profile that covers impulsive interference from spark sources such as motors and thermostats should be applied to all measurements within the standard, not just those below 30 MHz."
