Dyno emulates engine

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 2/1/2004

The Engine Torque Pulsation Simulation (ETPS) dynamometer uses a real-time model to emulate engine operation for testing powertrains and front-end accessory devices. Using a closed-loop real-time controller, the dynamometer accurately produces the high-frequency torsional pulses produced by gasoline and diesel engines. The system software allows users to run through entire driving cycles with complete simulation of the engine and driver. Schenk Pegasus, Troy, MI. 248-689-9000; www.schenkpegasus.com .
