DVT announces cooperative agreements

DVT (Duluth, GA) has announced two strategic partnerships. Phoenix Contact (Blomberg, Germany), maker of industrial connection, packaging, and communication technologies, will brand-label a power supply and an Ethernet I/O assembly for use with DVT's Smart-Image vision systems. In addition, Iconics (Foxborough, MA), an industrial automation and business visualization software maker, will develop an OPC server for DVT products.
Phoenix Contact will provide an industrial strength DIN rail-mountable power supply, featuring a reliable, easy-to-assemble connection technique to permit quick device connection. The preassembled I/O rail assembly will offer Ethernet/Modbus/TCP protocol with eight built-in inputs and eight digital outputs. The I/O board will include advanced diagnostics for camera power and an integrated Dsub breakout module. By including the Phoenix Contact products in its own offerings, DVT can now directly offer a complete integrated vision solution.
Iconics' server builds upon the fast-growing OPC standard for the exchange of real-time manufacturing and process-control data. With OPC technology, users can connect components from different manufacturers to communicate with one another through a common protocol. The Iconics server technology will allow DVT cameras to receive communications from a variety of components through a single source. www.dvtsensors.com.
