Real-time spectrum analyzers operate to 8 GHz

Tektronix has designed its new RSA Series of real-time spectrum analyzers for engineers developing RF products that range from RF identification tags to sophisticated radar systems. The real-time analysis capabilities allow the instruments to trigger on frequency-domain events occurring on time-varying RF signals, which in today's applications exhibit frequency hopping or other characteristics that are difficult to capture with traditional spectrum analyzers. Not only can the RSA instruments capture such signals in response to trigger events, but they can analyze them as well.
The instruments can acquire a seamless record of a span of RF frequencies, showing frequency, time, and modulation domains in time-correlated displays. A frequency mask trigger allows users to define the frequency and amplitude conditions under which an RSA instrument captures signal information. Four models in the series provide frequency coverage to 8 GHz and offer various memory-depth configurations.
