Spectrometer measures exhaust particles

Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 3/1/2004

The Model 3090 Engine Exhaust Particle Sizer (EEPS) provides particle size distributions of exhausts from diesel and spark-ignition engines, as well as other combustion sources. It measures particles in the range from 5.6 to 560 nm in diameter in rapidly changing aerosols, like those generated during engine-transient test cycles. The instrument also measures concentrations of multiple particle sizes simultaneously. TSI , Particle Instruments, Shoreview, MN. 800-677-2708; www.tsi.com .
