Choose your calibration
Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 3/1/2004
All equipment needs periodic calibration, but the level of calibration you need depends on how you use your test equipment. To that end, Agilent Technologies now offers three levels of calibration services. The base level, called "Industry Calibration," is for general-purpose test-equipment applications, particularly for equipment used in engineering labs and service depots. At this base level, Agilent performs about 60% of the checks and adjustments that it performs for its next level of service—for about 60% of the cost. Thus, you can now use Agilent to calibrate both Agilent and non-Agilent equipment at prices competitive with third-party calibration labs. For example, calibraton of an Agilent 34401A DMM costs $85.
When you need a higher level of service, you can choose Agilent's "Inclusive Calibration" service, which brings the equipment to its original factory settings. For even more strenuous calibration, the "Standards-Based Calibration" lets you specify the required uncertainty over the instrument ranges where you'll use the instrument.
