Contained on a PCMCIA Type II card, the PC401 serves as a dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 interface for a laptop computer. The compact card performs all of the required tasks associated with the simulation, testing, monitoring, data communication, and production/validation test phases of the various components of the avionics multiplex bus. It provides error injection, programmable output amplitude, and programmable message parameters. A choice of 1553A/B or McAir protocols is user-selectable through program control.
