Staff -- Test & Measurement World, 4/1/2004
HBM (Marlborough, MA) and FCS Control Systems (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) will provide the data-acquisition hardware and software used for structural tests on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. The two companies will supply six fully integrated load control and data-acquisition systems to the F-35 team. Three of the test systems will have 4000 channels, while the remaining three will have 2500 channels.
Lockheed Martin will use the equipment to develop all three F-35 variants: the CTOL (Conventional Take Off and Landing), STOVL (Short Take Off/Vertical Landing), and CV (Carrier Version). Development tests will be run at the Lockheed Martin facility in Fort Worth, TX, as well as at facilities belonging to Vought Aircraft Industries (Dallas, TX) and BAE Systems (Brough, Yorkshire, UK). www.hbm.com.
